Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince
Author: J.K. Rowling
This book is the 6th in the series and has a movie based on the book. This book is for all ages but is one of the most dense books out of the series. What I love about this book is the imagery, storytelling, and the feelings Harry goes through in this book. Harry in this book grows so much from being a boy to a young man. I love Hermione so much, she and Ron! OH MAN! IT'S CRAZY! The relationships are spot on in the book. It doesn’t overpower the story which I think J.K Rowling did an amazing job at doing. J.K Rowling is an amazing author and her series is definitely one of my favorites!
Cautioned
What I think should be cautioned in this book, black magic, scary scenes, death and crushes, from a christan conservative perspective I can see how it can be troubling but let me explain the crushes. The crushes are merely a girl who Harry likes and wants to date. He only kisses the girl once or twice. The scary scenes are not scary in my opinion but I am a person who likes sci-fi/ action adventure. The death in this book is mild compared to other books. The end is intense so maybe if you can handle the feeling of characters feeling depressed about what happened to friends, and family then go ahead and read but if you don’t like it when a character dies then I caution you beforehand. Anyway this is one of my favorite books in the series so I totally recommend it.
